About

Born into a lineage of artists, poets, and musicians, Sharkara Jain creates paintings deeply inspired by the magnetic architecture of India and the richness of its civilization. Much of her work reflects on the intricate social structures that have sought to confine Indian women for centuries, a theme she continues to explore with sensitivity and strength. Her vibrant color palette draws from the riot of hues woven into the very fabric of India.

Sharkara is a self-taught artist, guided in her early years by her grandmother, herself a painter. With nearly four decades of painting behind her, she began showcasing her work professionally in 2019. Her recent works have been exhibited at the Novartis Art Gallery and the Livingston Public Library.

She gravitates towards abstraction, often exploring subjects such as landscapes, architectural marvels, and the resilience of women.
When she isn’t painting, Ava brings her analytical side to life as a Certified Public Accountant, running her own firm, Solomon-cs.com.
